Press Release Summary = . New programme to reflect independent business model . Policy based programme to keep CODA a sustainable business
Press Release Body = CODA plc, the finance systems specialist which recently floated on London's AIM Market, today launched its new Corporate Responsibility Policy and supporting programmes. CODA's policy includes initiatives to formalise client and market involvement in product development, increase recycling, save energy and cut CO2 emissions, as well as initiatives to continuously improve the company's reputation as a supplier, employer and member of its local and professional communities. Jeremy Roche, CEO of CODA plc, said: "We believe Corporate Responsibility is a core component in the creation of sustainable shareholder value. We want to ensure and clearly demonstrate that CODA is a strong, sustainable business. It's important to us, as it should be to every business, to show investors, customers, suppliers, staff and the communities we are part of that the company is behaving ethically and responsibly towards each of them. We are determined to take a long-term view of the business and therefore how we impact everyone around us." CODA, which develops and markets software solutions for Finance Departments, recently introduced a new version of its CODA-Control product line to help manage Corporate Responsibility programmes, and it's no surprise that the new policy will be implemented using this unique piece of software. Following its demerger from CODASciSys plc, CODA is now able to produce a dedicated policy that reflects its own business needs and specific circumstances. The project to implement the policy is headed by Dave Belmont, CODA's Company Secretary, who was recently named Company Secretary of the Year by the ICSA. His appointment reflects CODA's belief that Corporate Responsibility is a core business strategy rather than a 'window dressing' approach favoured by many businesses, and Mr Belmont and his team are implementing firm measurement criteria for each of the initiatives outlined in the policy. In time, suppliers and some other business partners will be asked to comply with aspects of the policy, and new suppliers will be expected to provide detailed information about their policies, plus data that affect CODA's measurement criteria. ABOUT CODA CODA creates, markets and implements a complete range of software systems designed specifically to meet the needs of Financial Directors and Finance Departments. These include financial management systems, analysis applications, and business process management and control software to implement compliance solutions. Its service oriented architecture also makes CODA software easy for clients and other vendors to integrate it with their business applications. CODA was founded in 1979, has around 550 employees working from 13 global locations, and is listed on AIM in London under the ticker "CODA". CODA software is designed for multi-currency, multi-language, multi-country, multi-company and multi-site operations, and is used by around 2,600 medium and large organizations in over 100 countries in a variety of markets and within both public and commercial sectors.
